Kolbotn IL was one of 191 clubs from Norway that had teams playing during Adidas Cup 2021. They participated with 7 teams in Gutter 13 (2008), Gutter 14 (2007), Gutter 15 (2006), Gutter 16 (2005), Jenter 13 (2008), Jenter 14 (2007) and Jenter 15 (2006) respectively. The team in Jenter 14 (2007) made it to the the in Gruppespilland won it over Faaberg Fotball by 1-0.

In addition to this, Kolbotn IL have participated in Adidas Cup before. During Adidas Cup 2020, Kolbotn had 5 teams playing in Gutter 13 (2007), Gutter 14 (2006), Gutter 15 (2005), Jenter 13 (2007) and Jenter 17 (2004-2003) respectively.

Kolbotn comes from Sofiemyr which lies approximately 110 km from Gjøvik, where Adidas Cup takes place. The area around Sofiemyr does also provide 56 additional clubs participating during Adidas Cup 2021 (Among others: KFUM-Kam. Oslo, Gjelleråsen, Hasle-Løren IL, Fjellhamar, Kløfta, Strømsgodset IF, Rælingen, Bærum SK, Lørenskog and Gui Sportsklubb).
